Spinner says three training sessions help the team adapt to Dubai conditions for Asia Cup

Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal said her team are well prepared for the Women’s Asia Cup after completing three training sessions and adapting to conditions in Dubai.

Pakistan open their campaign against Thailand, with Iqbal confident the team can put their preparations to good use.

“Our preparations for the Women’s Asia Cup are going very well,” Iqbal said. “We are working hard on the areas where we felt we were lacking.”

Iqbal said playing against the men’s side during the training camp had helped the players gain confidence and identify weaknesses.

“Playing with the boys gives you confidence. We got the opportunity to play with the boys in the camp.” “Playing matches with the boys gives us an opportunity to identify the areas where we are lacking and work on them.”

The spinner expects Dubai’s pitches to assist Pakistan’s spin attack.

She said Pakistan would look to adopt an aggressive approach in the shortest format.

“T20 cricket has changed a lot. You have to play attacking cricket, and we are trying to play in the same way.”
