Children's Hospital Multan holds mock fire drill

MULTAN:

The Children's Hospital Multan, in collaboration with Rescue 1122, conducted a mock fire and emergency response drill on Monday to strengthen preparedness for emergencies and ensure the safety of young patients.

The exercise was held under the supervision of Dean Prof Dr Kashif Chishti and Medical Superintendent Dr Kamran Asif.

During the drill, hospital staff received practical training on responding to fire emergencies, safely evacuating patients, using firefighting equipment and following emergency response procedures.

Hospital administration and Rescue 1122 teams also simulated different emergency scenarios to assess staff preparedness, coordination, communication and response times.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Kashif Chishti and Dr Kamran Asif said the safety of children admitted to the hospital was the administration's top priority.

They stressed the importance of regular training and mock exercises to ensure that hospital staff remained prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.

They said such drills would be conducted regularly to further strengthen the hospital's emergency response system and minimise risks to patients, attendants and staff.
