Constable martyred in Faisalabad raid

A police constable was martyred after suspects in an attempted murder case opened fire during a raid to arrest them in Faisalabad.
According to a police spokesperson, a team led by the Thekriwala police station SHO conducted the raid in the area of 73-JB Jhappal.
As the police reached the location, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire.
Constable Abrar Hussain was hit by gunfire. He was immediately shifted to the Allied Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The police arrested suspects Bilal, Hannan, Hammad and Zubair and seized weapons from their possession.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim paid tribute to Constable Abrar, saying the martyred official had set an example of bravery while performing his duty. The IGP directed officials to ensure the welfare of the bereaved family.
In another incident. A police official was injured after being caught in a crossfire in Asif Colony, Lahore.
According to the police, Umar, posted in the Special Protection Unit (SPU), was present in the area when a quarrel broke out and some men opened fire. The official suffered bullet wounds to his neck and back and was shifted to Mayo Hospital, where he was out of danger.
The police said Fayyaz, Ilyas, Akash and others had opened fire during an altercation, resulting in Umar's injury.
