BALAKOT:

A foreign tourist identified as Alexander went missing after losing his way while visiting the popular tourist destination of Musa Ka Musalla in Balakot.

Alexander had travelled to the 13,500-foot-high Musa Ka Musalla peak with his foreign friend, Alex. According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the two tourists were returning from the peak when Alexander lost his way and went missing.

Rescue 1122 teams, accompanied by police, launched a search operation and spent the day combing various locations. The teams searched possible routes, forested areas and other difficult-to-access areas in the vicinity, but could not locate the missing tourist.

The search operation was called off after darkness fell due to poor visibility and the difficult terrain. Rescue 1122 and other relevant departments will resume the operation on Monday morning and use all available resources to locate the missing tourist.
