'Sheroes' trailer unveils three women, three stories ahead of Sept 18 release

The poster for Sheroes was unveiled on Friday, giving fans their first look at the star-studded anthology film. Two days later, its trailer offered a closer glimpse at Kinza Hashmi, Zara Noor Abbas and Ushna Shah, each leading one of three separate stories.

The film’s official description captures its premise succinctly: “Three women. Three worlds. Three stories that stand entirely on their own.”

In Hashmi’s segment, the actor appears in an art gallery while reciting an Urdu translation of the old saying that a lie travels around the world before the truth has time to catch up. The gallery setting hints at a story involving forged paintings.

Abbas, meanwhile, appears as a police officer in a more action-driven segment. Her scenes include defusing a bomb, speeding through the streets in fast cars and arriving at a police station on a motorbike.

Shah takes on the role of a boxer, with the trailer showing her training before stepping into the ring to face an opponent.

The project is backed by the Sindh Information Department and presented by Tamasha Films, while Orient Distribution is handling its theatrical release.

Saqib Khan and Badar Mehmood are directing the film, with Mohsin Ali, Hashim Nadeem and Amna Mufti credited as writers. Imran Hussain is producing the project.

The film’s official theme further sets up its central idea: “Three girls, three different battles and one decision for their rights.”

The film starred Ayesha Omar as a football coach training young girls in Lyari, with Dananeer Mobeen playing her protégé.
