Four robbers killed in Peshawar encounter

PESHAWAR:

Four notorious members of an alleged inter-provincial robbery gang, reportedly wanted by police in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Islamabad, were killed in a major police encounter within the jurisdiction of Yakatoot Police Station, while two suspects managed to escape.

The deceased included gang leader and alleged wanted robber Waqar alias Major. Police launched a search operation and erected checkpoints at various locations to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Mian Saeed said the Waqar alias Major gang had allegedly been involved in organized crime for around 15 years.
