Doctors seek 'workable' tax mechanism
Local leaders of the Pakistan Medical Association have urged the government and FBR to hold negotiations with representatives of the medical community about tax collection.
They said during a press conference that doctors were not seeking to evade taxes but demanding a transparent, simple and workable system. The doctors' leaders said the interests of patients would remain their top priority.
They maintained that doctors and the government were not opponents but part of the same system and urged that the matter be resolved through dialogue.
They said decisions taken without taking the medical community into confidence would not provide a lasting solution.
