The Walking Dead: Dead City is back for its third season, with Maggie and Negan's latest chapter in post-apocalyptic Manhattan now heading towards its finale.

Starring Lauren Cohan as Maggie Greene and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan, the AMC spinoff returned for Season 3 on July 26, 2026. The new season consists of eight episodes, with the finale scheduled to air on September 13.

As of August 30, six episodes of the season have aired, leaving two episodes still to come.

The series continues to follow Maggie and Negan as they attempt to build the first thriving post-apocalyptic community in Manhattan, while their complicated history continues to shape their uneasy alliance. Season 3 picks up after the dramatic events of the second season, including the death of the Croat.

The remaining episodes will air weekly on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and will also be available to stream on AMC+.

  • July 26: Episode 1, "Trillium"
  • August 2: Episode 2
  • August 9: Episode 3
  • August 16: Episode 4
  • August 23: Episode 5
  • August 30: Episode 6
  • September 6: Episode 7
  • September 13: Episode 8, Season 3 finale

The third season also introduces several new cast members, including Aimee Garcia, Raúl Castillo and Jimmi Simpson. It is the first season with Seth Hoffman serving as showrunner, following Eli Jorné's departure from the role.

The season has also expanded Maggie's story beyond her long-running connection to Glenn and her complicated relationship with Negan. In Episode 4, Maggie briefly considers a potential romance with newcomer Luis, played by Castillo, marking the first time she has seriously contemplated another relationship since Glenn's death.

Another familiar face is also set to return. Emily Kinney, who played Beth Greene on The Walking Dead, will appear in a Season 3 episode set in an alternate reality. Kinney and Cohan announced the surprise return at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24.

For now, viewers have two more episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 to look forward to, with the finale arriving on September 13, 2026. AMC has not yet renewed the series for a fourth season, although Cohan has said the creative team already has ideas for where Maggie's story could go next.
