Convicted murderer sentenced to death

RAWALPINDI:

The Additional District and Sessions Judge sentenced accused Zafar Mahmood, who was arrested in the famous murder case of Ratta Amral police station, to death penalty and imposed a fine of Rs1 million upon conviction.

The judge ordered that the accused be hanged until he dies. Zafar Mahmood was convicted for killing a citizen with a knife over a grudge.

The case had been registered in Ratta Amral police station in November 2019. The accused had fled after the incident but was later arrested.

In a separate case, the sessions court sentenced a drug supplier Rehan to nine years in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs100,000.
