Two sisters recovered, abductor held

LAHORE:

Police claimed to have recovered two sisters allegedly abducted while they were out to buy household items and arrested the suspected abductor.

According to police, the sisters were allegedly lured by the suspect, identified as Ramzan, while they were heading to a market.

Their father informed police, who registered a case and launched a search operation. Police traced the sisters through CCTV footage and recovered them safely after pursuing the suspect. Ramzan was arrested and shifted to the lock-up.

Further investigation is underway. DIG Operations said no compromise would be made on the protection of women and children and strict action would be taken against offenders.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two suspects after a woman was allegedly gang-raped in the Sabzazar area.

According to police, the woman's husband accused four men of sexually assaulting his wife. Police arrested two nominated suspects, identified as Hamza and Qamar Abbas alias Bodi, while raids are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.

A case has been registered under relevant provisions, and investigators are questioning the arrested suspects and collecting evidence.

The woman is undergoing a medical examination, while further investigation is underway.
