Sacked doctors seek court's intervention
.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday fixed for hearing a contempt of court case concerning the reinstatement of doctors dismissed from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and the non-payment of their salaries.
A division bench comprising Justice Azam Khan and Justice Muhammad Asif will hear the contempt case against PIMS Executive Director Dr Rana Imran Sikandar and others, along with the doctors' intra-court appeal against a single-bench judgment, on September 2.
The dismissed doctors approached the court through Advocate Riasat Ali Azad, contending that they were permanent employees.
According to the petitioners' counsel, the single bench had upheld their dismissal after declaring them contract employees and dismissed their petition. The doctors subsequently filed an intra-court appeal against the single-bench judgment.
The division bench has already suspended the single-bench judgment.
