Sindh development projects reflect true facts: Sharjeel

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that roads are being built, houses are being constructed and electricity is being generated across Sindh as the province continues to move rapidly towards development.

He said the Sindh government does not merely make claims; its development projects and practical initiatives speak for its performance. The province's development programme for the fiscal year 2025-26 has been set at Rs1.018 trillion, covering 3,642 schemes.

In a statement, he said that the scale of Sindh's development budget and the extensive range of ongoing projects clearly reflected the government's priorities. Over the past five years, he said, 5,636 kilometres of roads had been constructed and 1,460 development schemes completed.

"The biggest evidence of Sindh's progress is the improvement in facilities and services directly available to the people," he said, adding that the Sindh government's efforts in healthcare and the provision of basic amenities had received recognition internationally.

Sharjeel said the project to construct 2.1 million permanent houses for flood-affected families was an unprecedented initiative in the field of relief and rehabilitation.

He said that 3,240 megawatts of electricity generated through the Thar coal project was being supplied to people across the country through the national grid, while several renewable energy projects, including wind and solar schemes, had also become part of the national power system.

In the irrigation sector, he said, canal lining projects covering 3,675 miles had been completed, resulting in huge water savings.
