'Road to Liberty' brings US founding story to Karachi

A digital exhibition tracing America's founding history and its 250-year journey of independence opened at Lincoln Corner Karachi on Thursday, offering Pakistani students and educators an interactive look at the people and ideals that shaped the United States.

The travelling exhibition, titled 'Road to Liberty', was inaugurated at the Lincoln Corner Karachi, housed at Liaquat Library under the US Consulate Karachi.

The exhibition is part of the Founders Museum, a special White House initiative marking 250 years of the United States and highlighting the country's founding and evolution.

Aimed primarily at young Pakistanis, students and teachers, the exhibition introduces prominent figures from American history and explores the founding values associated with the country, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It features visual and written profiles of major historical figures from the 16th to 18th centuries, with QR codes allowing visitors to access additional historical material through their smartphones.

US Consul General Karachi Charles Goodman said America's founding story revolved around "freedom and natural rights", principles that continued to guide the country 250 years later.

Visitors explored the exhibition's digital material through QR codes, while Education USA specialists and advisers also took participants on a virtual tour of prominent US universities named after America's founding figures. The travelling exhibition will visit educational and cultural institutions across the Karachi Consular District, including Karachi and Hyderabad, through December 2026.
