IHC reserves verdict in farmhouse case

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a petition seeking an inquiry against the Station House Officer (SHO) of Phulgraan Police Station over an alleged occupation of a citizen's farmhouse.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro heard the petition and questioned the officials over implementation of court orders.

The judge observed that if a party was aggrieved by a court order, it should challenge the order before the appropriate forum rather than refuse to comply with it.

"If you do not agree with our order, you may challenge it before the Supreme Court," Justice Soomro remarked, adding that once an order had been passed, it had to be respected and implemented.

He further observed that respect for courts was essential, adding that those who respected the courts would also earn respect themselves.

Advocate General Islamabad Naveed Hayat Malik assured the court that every judicial order would be implemented. He requested the court to provide the authorities some opportunity so that they could properly assist the court.
