Murderer sentenced to death on two counts
A Model Trial Court has sentenced accused Babar to death twice and his brother Javed to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in a double murder case.
According to the prosecution, the case was registered at Kalakot Police Station over the murders of Muhammad Ismat and Sophia. The victims were present inside a house allegedly occupied by the accused when the incident took place.
District Public Prosecutor Shakeel Ahmed Abbasi argued that key prosecution witnesses had identified the accused and that the eyewitness accounts were corroborated by medical and forensic evidence.
A weapon was also recovered from Katchi Memon graveyard on Babar's identification, the prosecution told the court.
In its verdict, the court held that the prosecution had successfully established the charges against both accused. It found solid evidence against Babar for the murders, while Javed's role in restraining the victim and facilitating the crime was also proved.
