Superstore owner robbed of Rs6m outside bank

KARACHI:

In yet another robbery outside a bank, three unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle robbed the owner of a private superstore of Rs6 million near Safora Chowrangi in the Sachal area.

According to police, the incident took place outside a bank near a private hospital in the jurisdiction of Sachal Police Station. The store owner, identified as Liaquat, son of Nawaz Ali, had arrived at the bank to deposit Rs6 million when the suspects intercepted him and snatched the cash bag at gunpoint.

The suspects opened fire when the victim resisted. A bullet hit the bank's glass door, causing it to shatter, and an 18-year-old man inside the bank, identified as Amir, son of Qamar Memon, was injured by broken glass. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Sachal SHO Wilayat Hussain Shah said the suspects had allegedly followed the superstore owner from his residence before intercepting him outside the bank.
