Missing Haripur minor sexually assaulted

HARIPUR:

Five-year-old Ayat Noor, who has been missing for 15 days, was allegedly sexually assaulted and has not been found alive or dead since the incident.

According to Haripur DPO Shafiullah Khan, three arrested suspects confessed before a judge to abducting and sexually assaulting the girl.

The arrested suspects include Usman, Talha and Qasim. Various police teams are conducting a search operation for the recovery of the girl.

Haripur DPO Shafiullah Gandapur further said various teams were engaged in the search for the five-year-old girl, with more than 300 male and female personnel taking part in the operation.

Despite the arrest of the suspects, five-year-old Ayat Noor has neither been recovered alive nor has her body been found.

The arrested suspects allegedly threw the girl into the grounds of a fertiliser factory after sexually assaulting her, but she has not been found there so far. Whether the girl is alive or dead remains unknown.

Meanwhile, the girl's father, other relatives, civil society members and politicians staged a strong protest against the incident and blocked the Karakoram Highway for six hours. They demanded the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the girl, chanting slogans against the failure to locate her.

The road was reopened after police officials sought two days to address the matter.
