QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that a major road in Duki district will be named after Lady Doctor Mahnoor Nasar in recognition of her courage, dedication and selfless service to the local community.

Following the chief minister's directives, the Balochistan Local Government and Rural Development Department has issued a formal notification to implement the decision. Dr Mahnoor Nasar sustained burn injuries after an accused allegedly sprayed acid on her face at Civil Hospital Quetta. Despite facing severe challenges, she has earned widespread admiration for continuing to perform her medical duties and serving patients in difficult circumstances.

The chief minister said Dr Nasar's resilience was a symbol of strength and a source of pride for the women of Balochistan. He said people who risk their safety and personal comfort to serve humanity deserved formal recognition and encouragement.

Naming a major thoroughfare in Duki after Dr Nasar, he said, would permanently commemorate her courage and commitment to public service.
