Gilani seeks more trade, investment with Qatar

ISLAMABAD:

Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday held a meeting with a high-level Qatari delegation led by Sheikh Nayef Bin Eid Al Thani, prominent businessman and senior member of the Royal Family of Qatar.

The Senate chairman welcomed the delegation and highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

He said that the relations between Pakistan and Qatar were rooted in shared history, culture, faith and mutually beneficial trade ties spanning centuries, according to a statement.

Gilani stressed the need to further deepen bilateral relations through enhanced trade, investment and socio-political cooperation.

He briefed the delegation about his initiative of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC), being held under the highly theme of "Peace, Security and Development" in the contemporary global environment.
