CM highlights Multan tourism potential

Punjab Chief Minister.Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that an electric bus service will soon be launched in Multan.
Speaking to a delegation of MPAs from Multan, she directed them to join a tree plantation campaign in urban and rural areas.
She also instructed the MPAs to monitor development projects in their constituencies. The CM said Multan was a historic city with the potential to emerge as a major tourism hub.
"The purpose of development projects is to provide citizens safe travelling facilities and improve the traffic system," she said.
The chief minister said projects worth billions of rupees had been launched for the restoration of historical sites, including Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh in Multan.
The delegation discussed the political situation, ongoing projects and issues relating to their constituencies with the CM. It comprised Punjab Assembly Members Muhammad Salman, Nazik Karim and Malik Lal Muhammad.
According to a statement, they thanked the chief minister for the construction of the Multan-Vehari dual carriageway and appreciated the beautification of Multan as well as the construction and rehabilitation of Gulgasht Brand Road.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said in her message on the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Beliefs that Muslims had been subjected to violence on the basis of their religious beliefs in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine for decades.
She said any attempt to harm minorities would be dealt with firmly.
