A review board at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry on Saturday heard a case concerning the release, repatriation, and health conditions of 31 foreign prisoners from India, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and other countries.
The review board, headed by Justice Shahid Waheed, directed authorities to repatriate prisoners who had completed their sentences. The court also ordered that the remaining prisoners be provided with adequate food and medical facilities.
The prisoners face charges including illegally crossing the border and smuggling.
There are approximately 1,107 foreign nationals incarcerated across various prisons in Pakistan.
