Education dept rejects 'dangerous schools' reports

The Sindh School Education Department has rejected reports suggesting that 6,220 government schools across the province have been officially declared dangerous, terming the impression contrary to the facts.

The department said the information circulating in the media was related to internal correspondence and technical consultations between the department and the relevant engineering wing.

According to officials, the correspondence was being presented without its proper context.

The department explained that heavy rains and floods in 2022 partially or completely damaged nearly 20,000 schools across Sindh.
