In a rare reproach, Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation has blamed some officials of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) for allowing domestic and commercial constructions without HW&SC No Objection Certificates (NOCs). The corporation's spokesperson in a statement on Thursday held the authority's officials responsible for their dwindling revenues, contending that one hand new constructions are spreading rapidly in Hyderabad, and on the other hand their revenues earned from the NOCs are dropping fast.
The spokesperson also argued that the city's local government is also bearing the brunt but the financial losses for HW&SC are much higher at a time when the corporation is not even able to pay monthly salaries and pensions to its workforce.
The buildings, homes and other structures using HW&SC supplied water and the corporation operated drainage system in the city are adding financial burdens on the corporation while at the same time denying it the due revenues. HW&SC requested the govt to take strict notice of such irregularities.
