Psychology student Misbah Arshad has been crowned the new Miss Universe Pakistan following a competitive selection process, becoming the fourth Pakistani woman to represent the country on the global Miss Universe stage.
At the official ceremony in Zambales, Philippines, Arshad received the sash and crown from her predecessor, Roma Riaz.
Contestants progressed through several rounds, including evening gown, burkini and traditional wear, before reaching the final question-and-answer segment that ultimately determined the winner.
“My 10-year-old self would ask me the harder question because she would want to know how everything turned out,” she said.
Reflecting on the challenges she faced along the way, Arshad said her journey had been marked by failures, but that each setback had also offered an opportunity to learn and grow.
“We keep rising through these moments. It is a beautiful cycle of life, something we should not just embrace, but truly enjoy,” she said.
In a heartfelt Instagram post following her victory, Arshad shared a message about perseverance, stressing that failure does not determine whether someone is a winner. “What does is keeping hope alive, continuing to put effort and becoming better with every step,” she wrote.
She also revealed the meaning behind her winning gown, designed by Vietnamese designer Nguyễn Tiến Truyển. The gown’s symbolism, she explained, was closely tied to her personal philosophy and aspirations.
“This gown is pure white, because it is the colour of hope, a reminder to never stop believing in your dreams,” Arshad said. She added that the crystals featured on the gown represented education and knowledge — qualities she believes people acquire through continuous learning and self-improvement.
For the young pageant winner, those experiences are what make the journey meaningful and deeply human. As she prepares for the next chapter, Arshad said she hopes to remain present in the moment, enjoy every step and remain grateful to those who supported her along the way.
