Rashid Minhas remembered on 55th anniversary

The president and the armed forces on Thursday paid rich tribute to Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his 55th martyrdom anniversary, lauding his supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

President Asif Zardari said Shaheed Minhas had set an enduring example of courage, devotion to duty and patriotism by sacrificing his life for Pakistan at a young age.

In a separate message, Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu also paid profound tribute to the martyred officer.
