Kartik Aaryan reportedly set for knee surgery after injury on film set
Indian actor was reportedly injured while filming an action sequence for Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama

Indian actor Kartik Aaryan is reportedly set to undergo knee surgery after suffering an injury while filming an action sequence for director Kabir Khan’s upcoming film.
According to Indian media reports, Aaryan was injured during the final two days of filming and was subsequently admitted to hospital. Doctors are expected to perform surgery on his knee, after which the actor will likely be advised to rest for a few days before resuming work.
The actor had undergone extensive training with action coaches ahead of the demanding sequences. Despite the preparation, he reportedly sustained the injury while shooting an action scene.
Aaryan has yet to comment publicly on the reported injury or his condition.
The upcoming film is expected to be a sports drama, with Aaryan playing a kickboxing coach. The project also marks his debut as a producer under Dopamine Studios.
The injury comes at a significant point in Aaryan’s career. On July 18, the actor received the Best Actor award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his performance in Chandu Champion, also directed by Khan.
In the film, Aaryan portrayed Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, undergoing an extensive physical transformation and rigorous training regimen for the role.
Khan recently reflected on their journey together in an Instagram post celebrating Aaryan’s National Award win.
“The next two years was the most fabulous journey together. We made a film that we will always be very proud of. And exactly four years later to the day after the announcement came another announcement that brought the journey to full circle - Kartik got the National Award for Best Actor for Chandu Champion,” he wrote.
Aaryan first rose to prominence with films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, before establishing himself as one of Bollywood’s leading actors with successful projects including the second and third instalments of Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
With his reported surgery and recovery period potentially affecting his schedule, attention will now turn to when Aaryan is expected to return to filming and other professional commitments.
