LAHORE:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday extended until September 5 the interim bail of several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in four cases related to the May 9 violence, including the attack and arson at Jinnah House.

ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul heard the interim bail petitions filed by the accused, who appeared before the court and marked their attendance.

The court directed the prosecution to submit the complete record of the cases at the next hearing and extended the interim bail of the accused until September 5.

During the proceedings, police sought additional time to submit the case records.

The cases relate to allegations of violence and arson at Jinnah House and Sherpao Bridge, among other incidents reported during the May 9 unrest.

PTI leaders and other accused, including Hafiz Farhat Abbas, Ali Imtiaz Warraich and Owais Younis, appeared before the court.
