KARACHI:

New CCTV footage has shed light on the mysterious movements around the spot where the body of Mir Raza Ali, the owner of the popular dessert brand Wafflix, was found, capturing a suspected motorcycle and an unidentified man in the early hours of July 29.

According to the footage, a suspicious motorcycle was recorded by a mosque's CCTV camera at around 3.36am on the service road near the location where Ali's body was later found. The motorcycle reportedly stopped at the spot for a few seconds before leaving. The footage also shows a suspicious man walking near the mosque between 4.50am and 4.53am. However, the person's identity and movements could not be clearly established because of poor visibility in the darkness.

Investigators are now examining why the unidentified man was present near the body recovery site at such a late hour and whether his movements were connected to the incident.

At around 5.14am, another person seen near the mosque appears to notice a light resembling that of a police vehicle on University Road.

The CCTV footage further shows a police mobile a few yards from the spot where the body was found. At around 5.45am, a police official is seen getting out of the vehicle and walking towards University Road. The police mobile is then seen passing along University Road at around 5.52am. The vehicle is reportedly believed to belong to the Mubina Town police station.
