Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo reunite onstage for surprise 'Wicked' performance
The unexpected reunion came during the encore, after Grande performed 'Hate That I Made You Love Me'

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have reunited onstage for the first time in nine months, bringing their Wicked characters Glinda and Elphaba back together during Grande's London concert.
Erivo made a surprise appearance at Grande's Eternal Sunshine Tour show at The O2 Arena on Sunday, August 16. The unexpected reunion came during the encore, after Grande performed Hate That I Made You Love Me. The pair embraced before launching into two songs together.
Grande and Erivo first performed For Good, the emotional Wicked duet associated with Glinda and Elphaba. They then performed Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again, the medley they previously sang for the 2025 television special Wicked: One Wonderful Night.
The performance marked the first time the two stars had performed together since the November 2025 Wicked: One Wonderful Night special. Their reunion also came after months of speculation about whether they remained as close following the end of the two-film Wicked promotional cycle.
Grande and Erivo became close friends while making the two Wicked films, with their friendship becoming a major part of the movies' promotional campaigns. The pair frequently spoke about their bond and were often seen supporting one another at premieres and other events.
Erivo had already teased that she planned to attend one of Grande's UK concerts, effectively putting to rest speculation that the two had grown apart. She has also previously spoken positively about Grande and their friendship after their Wicked commitments came to an end.
The reunion also brought a subtle fashion nod to their Wicked characters. Grande performed in a white Givenchy couture look with Christian Louboutin boots, while Erivo wore a pale pink embellished Erdem ensemble with black thigh-high Louboutin boots.
Grande's London concerts mark the final stop of her Eternal Sunshine Tour. She is scheduled to perform 10 shows at The O2, with the run concluding on September 1.
