Passenger injured in Kharan coach attack

A passenger was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a coach travelling from Quetta to Kharan in the Patkan area, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the incident occurred when the passenger bus was passing through Patkan. The attackers opened fire on the coach, injuring a passenger identified as Abdul Rauf. Police and security forces rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident and shifted the injured man to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Further investigation into the attack is under way.
In a separate incident, a man was killed in firing by unidentified persons in Dasht, an area adjacent to Quetta. Police said the victim, identified as Sharif, was targeted by unidentified assailants. Police reached the scene after being informed of the incident and shifted the body to a hospital. Following completion of medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the deceased's heirs.
Meanwhile, Quetta police arrested four suspects and 14 Afghan nationals in separate operations and impounded 10 motorcycles for lacking registration number plates.
Acting on special instructions from SSP Operations Quetta Ziaul Haq Mandokhail, Pashtunabad SHO Fazlur Rehman Khilji conducted an operation and arrested suspect Fazal in a case registered under the Tenancy Act. Seven Afghan nationals allegedly residing illegally were also taken into custody.
