KARACHI:

The Human Rights Council of Pakistan and Soch Aurat staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday, demanding justice in three cases involving the alleged sexual abuse of one-and-a-half-year-old Aizal, the murder of Mir Raza Ali and the death of six-year-old Muhammad Wali.

Led by council leader Jamshed Hussain, the demonstration was attended by men and women carrying placards and banners demanding the arrest of the perpetrators and justice for the victims.

The protesters condemned the alleged abuse of Aizal, the killing of Ali and the discovery of Wali's body after two days. They said Ali was an educated young businessman and questioned the police failure to ensure timely justice in the cases. They urged the government and senior officials to strengthen laws aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and ensure the immediate arrest and strict punishment of those responsible.
