YouTuber Reckless Ben infiltrated Provo Canyon School as student, documenting allegations of abuse

YouTube documentarian Reckless Ben has released a new exposé in which he and a friend infiltrated Provo Canyon School in Utah, a residential treatment centre previously associated with abuse allegations involving former residents including Paris Hilton.

The for-profit facility, which caters to children and teenagers, has faced accusations of abuse for generations.

Hilton, who was previously a resident, has publicly discussed her experiences and held protests outside the school.

According to the report, the school has also faced two major lawsuits and lost the licences for both its boys’ and girls’ campuses.

For the documentary, Ben posed as a 17-year-old prospective student, while his friend Sheldon posed as a prospective employee.

Ben reportedly told the school that his father wanted to enrol him because of his “gay thoughts”.

Despite the school claiming to be LGBTQIA+ friendly, the report says he was accepted and a $49,400 fee was agreed.

Meanwhile, Sheldon documented the hiring process. According to the video, he was hired despite having a criminal record after an interview that focused on his ability to restrain students. The report also says management dictated answers during his medical examination.

The documentary alleges that students were subjected to practices including verbal and physical abuse, solitary confinement and inadequate education.

One alleged example involved students being “slammed” to the ground, while another involved solitary confinement over stealing potato chips. The report also alleges that expired food was served.

While undercover, Ben eventually escaped from the facility. According to the documentary, when staff contacted his supposed father, they did not disclose that he had disappeared and instead attempted to resolve the outstanding balance.

The video concludes with the school denying knowledge of Ben’s disappearance. A second part is expected to address what happened afterwards.
