Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been advised to reduce their professional activities and focus on fewer projects following the disappointing box office performance of their documentary, Cookie Queens.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said the couple should step back professionally and concentrate on producing successful projects with experienced teams.

“I would tell them to disappear professionally for a little while, dramatically reduce the number of announcements, and identify one genuinely compelling project with experienced people around them who know how to execute it,” Schofield told Page Six.

She added, “Reputation recovery is possible, but I don’t think it comes from another rebrand or another glossy publicity campaign. I would recommend the opposite. Less talking, fewer announcements and more execution.”

Schofield also said, “Success is one of the most effective reputation-management strategies in Hollywood. Make something undeniable and suddenly the conversation changes.”

Cookie Queens, which the couple executive-produced, follows four Girl Scouts during the cookie-selling season.

The film was released in select US cinemas on August 7 and opened at No. 15, reportedly earning $735 per screen.

According to the figures reported, the documentary has grossed $513,148 domestically.

Schofield said the couple should focus their efforts rather than pursuing multiple areas simultaneously. “When you try to establish authority in every category simultaneously, you can end up establishing authority in none of them. Pick a lane, become good at it and allow success to rebuild credibility.”

She also advised them to let experienced professionals lead future projects and develop work that is not centred on their relationship with the royal family.
