Family allegedly robbed at gunpoint

SARAI MUGHAL:

A family visiting a private park in the Head Balloki area was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by three armed men, causing concern among residents over a reported rise in street crime in Sarai Mughal and surrounding areas.

According to the complainant, Dr Kashif, he was travelling from Sahiwal with his wife, children and mother to visit a private park when three armed men intercepted them on the way.

According to the FIR, the suspects allegedly held the family at gunpoint and took Rs120,000 in cash, the complainant's wife's earrings and gold jewellery belonging to his mother. The stolen valuables were estimated to be worth around Rs2 million in total.

The suspects also allegedly snatched the family's mobile phones before fleeing. The complainant said the robbers struck the phones with the butts of their firearms.
