Suspect arrested in teen's murder case
Police have arrested the main accused in the murder of a 15-year-old boy after tracing the case, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Imran said on Saturday.
According to a police spokesperson, the victim, identified as Naseer Ahmed, was allegedly tortured and drowned in deep water in the jurisdiction of Muhammad Pur police station on July 29.
His body was later dumped in a cotton field. The DPO said the case, registered under an FIR, was initially treated as a blind murder. He said police used modern technology, forensic evidence and intelligence-based investigation to trace the crime.
A coordinated raid led to the arrest of the main suspect, identified as Muhammad Waqas. The DPO said the investigation was continuing from all angles and raids were under way to arrest a second suspect allegedly involved in the murder.
