Oil pipeline burst turns DHA road dagerously slick
A crude oil leak from a private company's underground pipeline turned a road near Street 13, Khayaban-e-Sehar, into an oil-covered pool on Saturday, prompting authorities to shut the affected stretch to traffic and deploy police personnel.
The leak caused a large quantity of crude oil to flow from the pipeline and accumulate on the road, drawing a crowd of residents to the area.
As soon as the incident was reported, the DHA vigilance team and police reached the site and took precautionary measures, placing barricades around the affected area and closing the road to traffic.
According to information available at the site, the underground oil pipeline is believed to be around 50 years old.
