PPP politics centred on people, not power: Sharjeel

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said the PPP's politics is centred on the people rather than power, asserting that the provincial government's public service agenda would not be derailed by political pressure or propaganda.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Sharjeel said those afraid of facing the people relied on social media and propaganda for political activity.

"The PPP's politics has always been for the people and among the people," he said, adding that the party did not need anyone's political certificate to run the government. "Our certificate is the mandate of the people of Sindh, and the Sindh government is the custodian of that mandate," he added.

The senior minister urged political opponents to demonstrate their own performance instead of blaming the PPP for their failures. "We will continue to respond to political allegations and propaganda through our performance and public service," he added.

Sharjeel said the people of Sindh had repeatedly expressed their confidence in the PPP and the provincial government was strengthening that trust through its performance. He added that the PPP believed in politics based on public service, democracy and development rather than hatred, division and allegations.

Two social media admins apologise

Two more social media page administrators have tendered an unconditional apology to Sharjeel Memon and his son, Rawal Sharjeel, over allegedly objectionable content posted against them on social media in connection with the murder case of trader Mir Raza Ali.

According to sources, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had summoned four people on a complaint filed by Sharjeel over a social media campaign against him and his son. Those summoned included Syed Abdullah, Amin Qureshi, Bilal Warisi and Obaid Qureshi.

The four had been directed to appear before the NCCIA Karachi office and bring their original CNICs, relevant documents, evidence and digital devices.

Sources said the individuals had posted content on social media against Sharjeel and his son in connection with the Mir Raza Ali murder case.

Two of the social media page administrators appeared before the investigating officer and tendered an unconditional apology for their conduct, sources added.
