Ex-Sindh MPA moves court, alleges woman hid identity with AI images before marriage

Former Sindh MPA Ghulam Rasool Unar on Thursday approached a court, alleging that a woman used AI-generated images to conceal her identity before their marriage and later blackmailed and threatened him.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) issued notices to the SP of the Complaints Cell and the SHO of Defence on the former lawmaker’s application seeking registration of a case against the woman.
The application came up for hearing before the court, where the applicant’s lawyer, Amir Nawaz Warraich, submitted that his client had communicated with the woman on social media and married her without seeing her actual face.

According to the lawyer, the former MPA married the woman through a video call on Feb 23, 2026. Whenever the applicant asked the woman to show her face, she had shared images generated using AI, the lawyer said.
He added that the woman was also wearing a veil on the day of the marriage.
After the marriage, the applicant saw the woman in person and was shocked to find that she looked completely different from the images, the lawyer said. The applicant distanced himself from the woman after seeing her actual face, although the marriage remained intact, he added.
According to the application, the woman later posted false images and posts on social media suggesting that the applicant had died.
The applicant subsequently divorced the woman on Aug 2, the lawyer said.
He told the court that the applicant had also lodged a complaint against the woman with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

After the divorce, the woman allegedly demanded millions of rupees from the applicant and threatened to blackmail and kill him, according to the application.
The court issued notices to the SP of the Complaints Cell and the SHO of Defence and sought a report by Aug 17.
