LAHORE:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday adjourned until August 17 the hearing of a post-arrest bail petition filed by PTI activist Falak Javed in a case concerning an alleged attack on Islamabad police officers at Zaman Park.

ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the plea. The prosecution sought time to produce the case record, while Falak's counsel submitted copies of judgments by superior courts in support of her bail plea.

The defence argued that Falak was a woman and entitled to bail under the law.

The court directed the prosecution to produce the case record and sought arguments from the state counsel on the bail petition at the next hearing.

According to the prosecution, Falak was allegedly involved in an attack on Islamabad police officials at Zaman Park.

The case also alleges that a petrol bomb was recovered from her possession.

The incident occurred when Islamabad police officials went to the residence of PTI founder to serve summons.

According to the case, protesters allegedly hurled petrol bombs at the police, injuring several officials.

A case, registered as FIR No 410/23, was lodged at Race Course Police Station in connection with the alleged attack on the police.
