FAISALABAD:

Police claimed to have arrested a man accused of poisoning a woman's husband and three daughters in collusion with the woman over an alleged illicit relationship, officials said. Police said Asima Bibi allegedly conspired with her alleged paramour, Babar, a resident of Lahore, to poison her husband and three daughters on July 26 in Gulshan-e-Raheem, Sitara Park City, on Jaranwala Road.

Azhar Ali died from the poisoning while his three daughters survived after receiving timely medical treatment. Police had registered an FIR under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code at Saddar police station on the complaint of the deceased's brother, Rana Muhammad Tahir Javed. Asima was arrested shortly after the incident, while Babar went into hiding.

City Police Officer Tanveer Hussain formed special teams under Saddar SHO Muhammad Ali Khan and Khanowana police post in-charge ASI Muhammad Javed to arrest the suspect.

Using technical resources and conducting raids at different locations, the police traced and arrested Babar after about two weeks in hiding.
