AR Rahman’s son injured in Chennai car accident, Indian media reports

AR Ameen has been establishing himself as a playback singer, following in his father’s musical footsteps

Playback singer AR Ameen, son of renowned Indian music composer AR Rahman, was involved in a car accident in India's Chennai in the early hours of Monday, Indian media reported.

Ameen and a friend who was travelling with him sustained minor injuries after their car collided with a cab.

According to Indian media reports, Ameen and his friend were travelling in Ameen’s car at around 3:30am when the collision occurred near Olympia Tech Park in Guindy. The two were reportedly heading towards Guindy when a cab coming from a side road collided with their vehicle.

The passenger in the cab also sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital before being discharged.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has registered a case to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized as part of the investigation.

Ameen has been establishing himself as a playback singer, following in his father’s musical footsteps. His recent work includes the Tamil version of Chikiri Chikiri for Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, as well as the independent track Bheegi Bheegi.
