Two cops suspended over 'negligence'

.

Two Karachi police officers have been suspended following allegations of negligence and dereliction of duty in connection with the murder case of young businessman Mir Raza.

The action was taken after Sindh Home Minister and Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi visited the victim's family home.

Following the visit, AIG Karachi Azad Khan ordered the suspension of Shahrah-e-Faisal SDPO Muhammad Arshad Afridi and Gulistan-e-Johar Station House Officer (SHO) Kamran Qureshi.

According to police sources, both officers were suspended over alleged negligence and lapses in handling the Mir Raza murder case. However, the official notification issued by Karachi Police does not specifically mention the murder case as the reason for the disciplinary action.

A statement issued by the AIG Karachi spokesperson said the officers were removed from their posts over negligence in the performance of their duties and violation of the police code of conduct. According to the notification, AIG Karachi ordered the immediate suspension of Muhammad Arshad Afridi, SDPO Shahrah-e-Faisal, East Zone.
