Benson Boone postponed his Sacramento concert after his voice was not in condition to perform

Benson Boone postponed his scheduled concert at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on Saturday after experiencing problems with his voice.

The Grammy-nominated singer was due to perform at the venue on August 8, but the concert was officially postponed less than an hour before it was scheduled to begin. Golden 1 Center said the postponement was due to health reasons.

Boone addressed fans on social media, explaining that he had been attempting to recover his voice ahead of the performance.

“Sacramento---I'm so so sorry but I am not going to be able to perform tonight. I've been fighting like hell all afternoon to try and make my voice presentable for the show tonight and it's not in a place to do so,” Boone wrote.

He acknowledged that the postponement would be disappointing for fans, particularly those who had travelled to attend the concert.

“I know this is extremely disappointing, especially for everyone who traveled to be here. Trust me I am disappointed too,” he said.

Boone and Golden 1 Center both confirmed that further information about a rescheduled performance would be announced. Boone also told fans, “I will see you soon.”

The postponed concert was part of Boone’s Wanted Man tour. He performed in San Jose on Friday, August 7, before the Sacramento date was called off.

His next scheduled performances are two consecutive shows in Los Angeles on August 10 and 11. The current final date of the Wanted Man tour is scheduled for September 3 in Casper, Wyoming.

No new date for the Sacramento concert has been announced.
