Two held for posing as govt officials

Factory Area police claimed to have arrested two men for allegedly impersonating government officials and extorting money from citizens on the pretext of serving court summons, police said on Saturday.
A police spokesperson said the suspects were identified as Zahid Iqbal and Basharat Ali. They allegedly posed as government personnel to gain the confidence of citizens and demanded money by falsely claiming that they had been assigned to serve court summons. The suspects reportedly used the pretext of official proceedings to deceive citizens and collect money from them.
