CM orders foolproof security for Rabiul Awwal

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday ordered foolproof security, uninterrupted civic services and special cleanliness arrangements across the province ahead of 12 Rabiul Awwal, directing authorities to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of Milad processions and religious gatherings.

Chairing a meeting with prominent ulema from different schools of thought and senior government officials, the chief minister reviewed preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and directed all relevant departments to address potential security, traffic, sanitation and civic-service issues well before the religious observance.

Prominent religious scholars representing different schools of thought attended the meeting and presented recommendations concerning security, traffic management, cleanliness, civic facilities and public convenience during Milad celebrations.

The chief minister listened to their concerns and directed the relevant departments to resolve them on a priority basis.

Shah directed K-Electric, SSGC, the Water Corporation and other utility providers to ensure uninterrupted electricity, gas and water supplies in areas around mosques, processions and Milad gatherings.

He said there should be no disruption in essential civic services around mosques, imambargahs, procession routes and venues hosting religious gatherings.

"All utility service providers must remain fully alert and prepared for an immediate response," he directed.

The chief minister also instructed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, municipal committees, district administrations, local government bodies and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to launch special cleanliness drives before and during 12 Rabiul Awwal.

"Cleanliness is an essential part of our faith," Shah said, directing authorities to keep procession routes, surrounding areas and public spaces clean and resolve drainage and sewerage problems well ahead of the celebrations.

He ordered local authorities across Sindh to identify and repair damaged roads, blocked drains, overflowing sewerage lines and other civic problems to prevent inconvenience to citizens during the celebrations.

On security, Shah directed the police, Rangers and district administrations to implement comprehensive security arrangements for all processions, gatherings and religious events across the province.

"The safety of participants is our top priority," he said, stressing the need for coordinated security plans, continuous monitoring and effective deployment of law-enforcement personnel.

The IGP and other officials briefed the meeting on the proposed security plan, traffic-management arrangements and the coordination mechanism to be put in place for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

The chief minister also emphasised the importance of interfaith harmony and religious tolerance, appreciating the positive role of ulema from different schools of thought in promoting peace and unity.

"Our strength lies in unity. The message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is one of peace, mercy, tolerance and brotherhood," Shah said, urging citizens and religious leaders to uphold these values and observe the occasion with dignity and harmony.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the chief minister directed divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police officers and local-government authorities to maintain close coordination and complete all preparations well ahead of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

He also ordered continuous monitoring of arrangements and immediate resolution of issues reported by event organisers and members of the public.
