Three Bee Gul plays explore love, loss, hidden truth

Arts Council of Pakistan presents three-part theatre production

The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has presented a theatre production featuring three plays written by acclaimed playwright Bee Gul, exploring themes of love, relationships, memory and the search for truth.

Directed by veteran theatre director Khalid Ahmed, the production brought together Badal Gaye Ho, Prologue and 15 Minute Aur in a three-part performance.

The evening opened with Badal Gaye Ho, a 15-minute play set at a bus stop, where three strangers waiting for transport gradually reveal their experiences of love, marriage and the disappointments hidden within everyday relationships.

The play featured performances by Kaif Ghaznavi, Usama Ranjha and Hassan Raza.

It was followed by Prologue, a 10-minute performance inspired by Khalid Ahmed's own life experiences. The deeply personal piece featured Ahmed alongside Hassan Raza and explored memories and emotions drawn from the director's real-life journey.

The final and longest segment, 15 Minute Aur, ran for 55 minutes. Inspired by a story by Nobel Prize-winning Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, the psychological drama follows a young woman attempting to prove her innocence.

As the story unfolds, however, the search for the truth takes an increasingly disturbing turn, leading to a revelation that challenges the characters' understanding of what really happened.

The production brought together three distinct theatrical styles while maintaining a focus on human emotions and the complexities of relationships.

Kaif Ghaznavi and Khalid Ahmed were particularly praised for their performances, with the cast receiving appreciation from the audience.
