Pakistan women crush Japan in Asian netball opener

The Green-shirts cruise to a 58-34 victory in Hong Kong to open plate division campaign

Pakistan’s women were off to a flying start at the Asian Netball Championships 2026 when they whipped 58-34 in their opening plate division fixture in Hong Kong.

The Green-shirts produced a disciplined and energetic display, combining effective teamwork with strong attacking play and defensive organisation to secure a comfortable 24-goal victory.

Pakistan controlled the contest from the outset and maintained their intensity throughout the match, eventually earning their first points of the tournament with an emphatic win over Japan.

The victory provides an early boost to Pakistan's campaign as the national side looks to build momentum in its remaining matches in the plate division.

Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) congratulated the players, coaching staff and officials on the result, with Chairman Zafar Awan, President Malik Sameen Kham and Muhammad Riaz extending their appreciation to the team for its performance.

Pakistan will now turn its attention to the remaining fixtures of the championship, aiming to carry the confidence from its emphatic opening victory into the next stage of the competition.
