Actor denies fake statement attributed to her, urges followers to remain mindful

Actor Naeema Butt spoke out against the growing spread of misinformation on social media after an Instagram post circulated her picture alongside a statement the actor clarified was completely false.

The post in question featured Naeema's photograph and attributed a statement to the actor that read, “Whenever I go on stage for a dance performance, I offer prayers before it.”

The actor, however, never made the statement. She directly confronted the account that shared the post, commenting under it that the information was false and questioning why her photograph was being used to spread misleading claims.

Taking to her Instagram, Naeema addressed the issue in a video message, speaking about the prevalence of deception and misleading information on the internet.

The actor urged people not to be afraid in an age where misinformation can spread rapidly, while also reminding her followers to stay grounded in their beliefs and remain mindful.

“This is the age of deception, but we should not be afraid. Just depend on Allah, no matter what profession you are in,” she said.

Naeema's response highlighted a broader issue faced by public figures, where photographs can easily be taken out of context and paired with statements never made. With posts capable of reaching thousands of users within a short period of time, misleading claims can quickly gain traction before the original source or authenticity of the information is verified.

By publicly calling out the post, the actor also encouraged her followers to be more cautious with the information they receive online.

Naeema is known for her roles in several dramas including the hit series Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, in which she played Rubab opposite Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir. The actor has also appeared in Ehd-e-Wafa, where she played Ghazala.
