Woman shot dead

MUZAFARGARH:

A woman was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants in front of her husband while the couple was returning home from a relative's house, police said on Friday.

According to police, Kaneez Mai was travelling with her husband, Safdar, when the attackers intercepted them and opened fire.

Kaneez sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene, while the assailants fled immediately after the attack.

Police registered a case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the victim's husband and launched a search operation to trace those involved.

The motive behind the killing has yet to be established, and further investigation is underway.
