Police uniform accessories standardised

Punjab Police has decided to standardise the design and pattern of accessories worn with uniform in all its units.

According to authorities, badges, caps, berets, medals, pockets and nameplates included in uniforms procured during the current financial year will have a standard pattern.

The colour of uniforms will remain different for various units, but the accessories will have the same design. Officials said the Punjab Police would purchase around 253,000 uniforms during the year for the district police, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), traffic police, Elite Police, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Reserve Mounted Police (RMP) and other units.

More than 125,000 olive-green uniforms will be procured for the district police. The provincial government has allocated nearly Rs1.75 billion for the purchase. At least one uniform will be prepared for every official.
